Community Behavioral Health Centers

Community Healthlink’s Community Behavioral Health Centers (CBHCs) are the most complete and compelling option for treatment of mental health and substance abuse issues in Worcester County.

The Community Behavioral Health Center program is part of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services’s “Behavioral Health Roadmap” with the goal of diverting people away from hospital emergency departments and to the appropriate services provided by a CBHC. The CBHC model is designed to provide more efficient, effective, and equitable care.

  • The program offers a more efficient way to provide mental health and substance use disorder services for residents – ensuring that the right people are involved from the beginning and that patients are being taken to the right facilities.

  • The effectiveness of the program is realized through better and faster care provided by properly trained clinicians who work at these CBHCs. Clinicians that specialize in a wide range of mental health  and substance use conditions and who will provide a complete and comprehensive treatment plan.

  • The program offers more equitable care because CBHCs provide treatment options for anyone suffering a Mental Health or Substance Use Crisis – regardless of race, gender, socioeconomic status, or insurance coverage.
