MISSION-MAT (Maintaining Independence and Sobriety through Systems Integration, Outreach, and Networking – to Enhance Access to Medication Assisted Treatment) is a federally funded program that provides wraparound treatment and support services to adults in the greater Worcester area with co-occurring opioid use disorder and mental health problems who are homeless or at risk for homelessness.

Purposes of MISSION-MAT:

  • Increase access to and utilization of medication assisted treatment
  • Reduce substance use
  • Reduce mental health symptoms
  • Increase engagement in community supports
  • Enhance linkage and support
  • Obtain or maintain stable housing

MISSION-MAT Provides the Following Services:

  • 6 months of peer support
  • 6 months of clinical support
  • MISSION-manualized approach to treatment
  • Medication assisted treatment
  • Referrals and linkages to services as needed including:
    • Housing
    • Medical care
    • Vocational and educational support
    • Independent living skills programs
    • Benefits (SSI, SSDI, TANF, SNAP, etc.)
    • Substance use treatment
    • Mental health and/or trauma treatment


  • At least 18 years old
  • Currently resides in Auburn, Boylston, Grafton, Holden, Leicester, Millbury, Paxton, Shrewsbury, Spencer, West Boylston, or Worcester
  • Currently experiencing housing instability
  • Presence of mental health problems and opioid use disorder
  • Able to receive and access services in Worcester
  • Willingness to cooperate with care coordination between service providers
